Across 267 tracked sessions: 165 last under 10 minutes (62%). Only 20 exceed 4 hours (7%).
The dominant productive pattern isn’t the coding marathon with the agent. It’s the micro-session: one precise question, one answer, one adjustment, back to the code. 3 to 8 minutes.
Long sessions (>1h) are almost all “catch-all” sessions chaining unrelated topics. Context rot degrades quality beyond 30-40 exchanges.
